Energy Forecast For July 2015: The Transformative Power of Difficult Truth

Each month I offer a free monthly Tarot forecast that looks at the dominate energies at play each month that affect our lives on the individual and collective levels.  They are available on the website and my Facebook page on the first day of each month. The energy of the suit of Swords dominates this July.  Swords have to do with the capacity to see reality in a clear and intelligent manner.  It is truth in its most raw and naked form.  With this clarity of thought, there will likely be a surfacing of grief or some element of suffering.   We tend to want to hide from reality that is difficult by utilizing various unconscious defense mechanisms that have been assembled to in order to protect ourselves from our own sorrow.  But when defensive walls of protection have been stripped away, if there is no blind will or anything else standing between ourselves and the reality before us, we have no choice but to be confronted with it.  We become awake.   This conscious awareness is a key... more

Tarot Forecast for June 2015: Inspiration

Explosives are a big thing where I live.  They are fully embraced by the culture and used for both sacred and profane purposes.  On holy days the churches will ignite them by the hour – day and night– in order to drive away the evil spirits that might want to interfere with the celebration.  On birthdays, they are ignited outside of the window of the person before she even rises out of the bed.  They are a part of every parade.  They are an integral part of Christmas celebration.  Weddings, anniversaries, store openings, house parties – you name it.  Basically, fireworks are everywhere and a constant here. So as I sit at my desk, at the break of dawn, and listen to the explosives erupting at various locations throughout the city, when I think of the theme for the month of June, inspiration, I cannot help but to think of the fireworks analogy.  Fireworks are an explosive spiritual symbol of sudden and dramatic inspiration and transformation.  The fuse has been lit, it is burning... more

Tarot Forecast for May 2015: Emergence

Beginning this month, I will be offering a free monthly Tarot forecasts that look at the dominate energies at play each month that affect our lives on the individual and collective levels.  They will be available on the website and my Facebook page on the first day of each month. April has given most of us a heavy shaking, leaving some of us feeling exhausted and guarded while for others it has allowed us to let go of what we have been tightly holding onto and to be more open and accepting of whatever is coming next.  This shaking is ultimately good because it has loosened up the areas where we were stuck and attached.  Freeing us.  Opening us to new perspectives and new ways of experiencing reality.  For those who have managed to hold tight, you will find yourselves deeper in the rut.  You are falling behind and the dislodging from your attachments could prove to be even more traumatic when it finally happens.  Are you still holding on or are you free from your attachments and... more

Sacred Site Tarot Readings

Living in the heart of Mayaland, I am very fortunate to be within a short day's drive or less from some of the most important ancient temples on the planet.  As you might imagine, the energy that can be accessed from these sites is spectacular.  Because so much ceremony has been done in one single place for a thousand years or more, there is an energetic cache that has been built up in these sacred spots over time.  This energy can be accessed, but never taken or erased.  It is an energy that is powerful and intended to be shared with all who enter the space.  With each new person's pilgrimage and unique expression of connecting to Spirit while there, the stockpile is added to and the sacred force builds.  Furthermore, some of the world's most powerful magical practitioners have been compelled to add to this energy reserve with their own pilgrimages and their own ceremonies acted upon these spots.   The cache is not one that consists merely of fluffy, new age stuff.  Intense... more

Cord Cutting Ritual For Releasing the Past

The cord cutting ritual is very good for breaking ties with another person in the past that you still feel connected to energetically. However, if there is something else from the past that you are still connected to in this way I would think that it would be also effective. But it is typically some "thing" or some "one" in the physical world that this ritual is used for. With that being said, if it is a thought form that is related to the past that is still connected to you energetically in the present I would think that this ritual could also be useful. What you would need to do is use an image of something physical as a symbolic representation of this thought form in place of it. Although I live in Mexico currently, I lived in northern New Mexico for nearly twenty years and am very connected to the land in that area. So for myself I visualize a specific place there – the Rio Grande Gorge. It is this beautiful place with a very deep crevasse that has been carved by the Rio Grande... more

Another Level of Unfolding Fruition • August 2018 Monthly Tarot Forecast

The Circle and the Dot Monthly Tarot Energy ForecastA while ago, I came to the conclusion that since the intensity of the moment rarely seems to cease, that we must have always had intense times.  Doesn't it seem to always feel that times are intense? There always seems to be some sort of "transformative moment" taking place.  Why is this?  How could it be that every month, every day, every moment, is transformative?  I started doubting if this was truly so, adjusted my expectations, and told myself that the "simpler times" of my youth may have been so only because freedom youth brought to me.  My excuse for expeiencing life differently now was that everything must seem simpler when we are young, innocent and naive. However, a friend told me that she recently visited a well known local astrologer who has been practicing for over forty years.  During her visit, he told her about the intensity of the moment that we seem to always hear when in conversation withi spiritual types, which has caused me to suspect that perhaps this moment is... more

The Spell of Lucifer Rising

Lucifer Rising, the 1972 occult classic film by Kenneth Anger, places magick on a golden pedestal through highlighting the beauty of ritual with its completely visual narrative.   The short film is, in essence, a magical spell in itself.  The surrealist imagery, thick with esoteric symbolism, is filmed at the ancient sacred Egyptian sites and Stonehenge, and is meant to be the ecstatic evocation of the new Age of Aquarius (in accordance with the teachings of Aleister Crowley, Anger's mentor) by the gods Isis and Osiris.   Watching the film is a mystical experience.  Although the filming began in 1966, it is tastefully dated, and the atmosphere it creates feels timeless in nature.  The filming technique creates a sort of hypnotic state for the viewer, pulling us into the participation of the ritual performed.    Jimmy Page, of Led Zeppelin, recorded the original score which was discarded and replaced by one composed by Bobby Beausoleil, one of the Manson family murderers.  It was... more
